GI Capital Management Ltd. acted as an advisor to ECP, one of the leading PE managers in the U.S. specializing in power energy and environmental infrastructure, on the occasion of their strategic partnership with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited (SMTB) , as announced in a press release issued by Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group. Based on ECP’s request for consultation on entering into Japanese market and finding a local strategic partner, GI Capital Management Ltd. introduced ECP to Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, which has a proven track record of investment and financing in renewable energy and other areas and promotes the creation of markets and capital demand in the decarbonization area as a priority strategy. We acted as an advisor to ECP in the negotiation process between the two companies and helped ECP conclude their business alliance with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank.
We will continue to support ECP’s entry into the Japanese market and promote investment business related to the expansion and upgrading of energy transition, market creation, etc. in the decarbonization area in Japan, while creating and contributing to social and economic value.
