GI Capital Management Ltd. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Managing Partner/CEO: Chang-Ho Lee) announced that on May 23, representatives and stakeholders participated in a ground-breaking ceremony at the future sites of the luxury hotel “Regent Kyoto” which will be operated by IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan LLC (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Abhijay Sandilya) and the long celebrated restaurant “Okazaki Tsuruya,” which has a history spanning nearly 100 years. Construction of the Project has formally begun, with an estimated opening slated for 2028.
This project milestone marks the completion of funding arrangements, including equity investment from a major investor and loan financing from a Japanese mega bank. GI Capital Management will continue to serve as the asset manager of the Project, committed to creating a special place where authentic luxury experiences unique to Kyoto can be delivered.
