GI Capital Management Ltd. announces that commercial operations have commenced at the Aso Biomass Power Plant, developed through Aso Biomass GK, which was established in April 2024 for the purpose of constructing and operating a biomass power plant in Aso, Kumamoto Prefecture. The plant utilizes unused domestic timber as its primary fuel source.
With the strong support and cooperation of numerous partner companies, investors, lending financial institutions, as well as local businesses and other stakeholders, construction of the power plant has been successfully completed at the end of February 2026.

The plant will generate electricity for the next 20 years using unused domestic timber sourced from the local area and neighboring prefectures. In addition to power generation, we will consider expanding and diversifying the business by effectively utilizing residues such as biochar and promoting agricultural initiatives through thermal energy use. The project will be advanced as a business that also contributes to local employment.
